The Sanctuary of Value & Love
Dignity & Blessing
The paradox is
that we think we are a logical species, when actually we are mythical in the way we live, the way we love and have been for thousands of years. Technology changes nothing but the veneer. |
Dignity
Does a solid oak tree consider its strength? Does a mountain dwell on its stature? Does the wind measure its power? Does the water take pride in its truth? Dignity is the silence that pervades all. The innate value and respect of being. This feeling of respect defines each of us. It is the harmony of our feeling about ourself. Knowing the truth of who you are. Knowing the worthiness of your being here. Knowing the value of your word. Knowing the meaning that engenders. Dwell in the truth of your Essence. Here in is the truth of dignity. Your purity is your strength. Goodness is the reflection of your core self. |
Dignity is the congruence of your feelings about yourself as you express your presence into the world. It is understanding that you are, in essence, a spiritual being having learning experiences in this world. This knowledge brings you inner strength and power. With no dignity of self, you will have a low opinion of yourself and how you will respond in the world.
Wonderfully, self-respect has the facility of being restarted in each of us at any time. Dignity is not forgetting the errors in our choices in the past. It is the decision to address each new choice with the respect of self that is needed. To assume that dignity requires a perfect history of personal choices, denies the fact that we are here to learn. And it is unlikely that we will successfully pass all the learning experiences the first time presented. Dignity is an attitude of self-respect with the awareness that we will stumble as we learn about life and spirit. To lose your self-respect is to give up on yourself too quickly. You forget that you are in school. It’s as though you fail a spelling test in early schooling and decide you are worthless. The test results only show you that you must apply yourself more intently. Your worth is unquestioned, as is your dignity. |
Blessing
In a room of mirrors, one gesture is multiplied. One small judgement becomes infinite. Variously hazed mirrors distort all. We become the center of infinite imperfections. To stand in the truth of who you are, is to wipe the haze clear. The mirrors reflect only one of us here. Refracting truth from the delusion. To witness to another the truth of being is eternal and blesses us both. To see us as simple reflections of the light off the water’s surface. To bless all that is good. To know that what I give, is given to me. We see us for what we are, water drawn from the same well. |
Feeling the dignity of your core self everyday and knowing that this is who you are, makes you realize that it’s also who everyone else is. Most don’t know it and thus, don’t show it. But you can help others discover their dignity through the action of blessing.
You see how their errors bring them pain. You are not here to fix them – only to bless them. In blessing them you acknowledge their experience of self-imposed suffering is a reflection of your own. All are learning in their own way. To bless them is to acknowledge that there is an inner innate goodness in all of us. The goodness, that we bring from before birth, is the common root that connects us all. It is a goodness that is expressed in each of us in our own unique way. In knowing the truth of who you are and standing on the dignity of that truth, it all becomes clear. Errors in choices do not tarnish your reflection. They only indicate what the next lesson needs to be. To learn is to evolve. To evolve is to manifest the higher aspects of yourself, your own dignity in being. Though the field of flowers has variety, the flowers all spring for the same source. To bless the existence of one, is to bless them all. For once below the surface, in the source of our Sanctuary, where does one flower end and the other flowers begin? |
