The Direction of Ability & Vision
Justice & Obligation
We are here to create the song of life.
Each of us carries the beauty within us of a short section of notes to the song, perhaps carrying only just one note. Each note is required to be fully played to bring the song to life, to be shared. We join one with one to build the harmony. Our creating expands and others join in. Our connection to each changes the song into a symphony of life and love. In harmony we all find a joy that goes beyond the quiet solitude of our single note. |
Justice
Justice is getting what you ask for, impartially, from the universe of being. Yet we have forgotten how to ask and ask for pain instead of wisdom. Disconnecting action from result, we complain of the injustice. Denying the law of connection we feel the justice of elective pain. Knowing that every thought creates our next reality. Justice is the connecting dots of living the results of actions. Justice is correction of the illusion of perception that we are alone and separate. Then we find just us. |
Justice is a natural law, much like a law of physics. It is not the imposing of punishment by one being on another. It is simply a restoration of balance.
If you place yourself under a waterfall, you get wet. There is no judging, just natural results. If you place yourself in the flow of pain, you get suffering. The action is directly connected to the result. We get what we ask for. We often punish ourselves because we believe we deserve that. We do this so much that we simply forget how to ask for what is good. The justice we experience is the correction. The universe shows us the results of our actions in order to help us correct how we make our next choice in life. The illusion is that there is cause and effect, as in the laws of physics. In fact, the apparent cause and effect are not only connected, they are one and the same thing. The fragrance and the rose are only one thing, just different aspects of only one reality. When we see that we are all not only connected, but actually just different aspects of one unity, we see that justice is only a restoration of natural balance. It is a correction to our illusion of perception that we have no choices. When we realize our communion we see every choice in our life is a choice in direction. |
Obligation
The bud cannot exist without the support of the limb. The limb without the help of the trunk. Is the trunk obligated to the roots? All are committed to the whole. Assigned to the service of each. Without obligation we reject the whole. To disown service is to fragment the world. Obligation is devotion to the well being of all, to the clarifying of Essence, to the mindfulness of connection. |
To many, obligation feels like chains. We are chained to some agreement. This belief is a denial of our connection to each other. We support each other so we all thrive. There is no obligation in that, only natural law.
Obligation is fundamental to our choice in direction in this life. Today’s culture allows many to live alone and un-obligated to the greater direction. They reject the whole and disown being of service. But in earlier times, in smaller communities, support of each other was necessary for all to prosper. It is more than support. Obligation is the respect for each other, honoring each person’s pathway in life. It is a devotion to the well being of all that we touch. This obligation is our understanding of our place in the world, our valuing each other, and our eternal connection. Taking our gratitude, creativity, and insight, we clearly see our direction. We create a vision of our devotion to life and the sacredness of others. We become committed to the whole. Our Essence is the root that absorbs nutrients for the tree. We are the trunk that supports and nourishes the the limbs and buds. We are mindful of how it is all connected. We are of service because we are one. To deny your obligation is to deny the value in living. |
